Faithless Live in Malta. South Central as Supporting Act.
Mark Borg - 13/07/2010

Just in case you're going to be on the Maltese Islands on the 7th August, then make it a point not to miss the chance to witness Faithless Live in concert. It was also announced that after their breath taking live performance during 'The Prodigy' concert, South Central will be a supporting act during this massive event on the 7th August at Gianpula Fields.

Faithless have always been musical movers and shakers. When this British collective first emerged in the mid-90s, the idea that a dance music act could produce rich full-length albums rather than one-off tracks, pack out live concerts and bring together all kinds of genres and music fans seemed quite revolutionary. The group which is made up of Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss and Rollo is best known for their dance songs namely 'Insomnia', 'God is a DJ' and 'We Come 1'.

Fourteen years, several albums and numerous global tours, festivals and hits later, those Faithless qualities have become benchmarks of the 21st century music scene. Their latest studio album entitled 'The Dance', reunites the central trio and extends that Faithless energy even further - always passionate and progressive.

From their 1996 debut 'Reverence', Faithless albums have stood out for their vibrantly varied fusion of styles and viewpoints, and so it is with 'The Dance', which flows from the gorgeous romantic sentiments of numbers like 'Sun To Me' to the quirky political commentary of 'Crazy Bal'heads'. More than ever, though, club culture is the elemental force here - and part of the inspiration stemmed from the live crowds that Faithless were encountering on tour namely that of 'To All New Arrivals'(2006).

The trio believe that during their concerts, there was a whole new generation of kids who were there for the big dancey beats like 'Insomnia' and 'God Is A DJ'. Thus Faithless wanted to really celebrate that side of their music and go for the jugular with 'The Dance'. However, their main challenge for the group remains that to sound quintessentially Faithless yet up-to-date.

This event is part of their European tour this summer where they have played in major events and festivals such as Glastonbury.
