Tips for Summer Music Festivals.
Mark Borg - 29/05/2010

Now that summer is practically round the corner, many are those who are eagerly waiting this much loved season as to expeience great outings with friends. Well being a Maltese, this is easily understood as the Maltese summer is synonymous with music festivals, concerts and parties. If you're thinking of visiting the islands then this is just a good reason to book your holiday here.

With the Isle of MTV concert just around the corner, and a host of other events coming up, we have prepared some useful tips for those attending these events.

1. Get hold of your ticket.

Purchase your ticket as early as possible. Ticket prices tend to increase in the final week prior to the event. Also, don't forget your tickets at home! If you are having a pre-party, keep your ticket in a safe place as to avoid losing it.

2. No bags and wallets.

Bags and wallets are just a hassle. Keep your money and ID card in your pocket and leave your wallet at home. Losing all your credit cards at one go is certainly not desireable.

3. Don't forget your ID card.

You'll probably need your ID card to get into the venue. Also, it's always a good idea to have it on you just in case something goes wrong and you become a random stranger passed out on the ground and the medics need to figure out who you are.

4. Charge your mobile phone.

Charge your cell phone some hours before you head out. The most commonly heard conversations at such festivals is always a shouted 'Where are you!?'. You will definitely be using it as you try to get in touch with your mates.

5. Preserve those memories.

You will want to preserve all those crazy memories that happened during the event. Also, it would be cool to upload all the pics on Facebook. Make sure that the batteries are fully charged and you have plenty of space on your memory card. Of course as the day goes by, the photos will get fuzzier and fuzzier and most of them will need to be deleted.

6. Water, water, water.

Some venues won't allow you to bring a bottle of water inside. However, most will supply free water taps. Drink plenty of water especially if you are drinking alcohol. A full day dancing underneath Malta's sizzling sun can quickly lead to dehydration so drink loads of water.

In order to finish off the day with just nice memories, don't drink and drive. It's always a great idea to team up with friends and book a private mini-bus. This guarantees a safer trip back home.
